About Placid
Placid is an appointment booking platform for barbershops and salons. We help businesses manage appointments, staff schedules, and customer communications through an intuitive web-based platform.
Messaging Use Case
We send the following types of SMS messages to customers who have opted in:
- Appointment Confirmations — Sent immediately after a booking is created to confirm details.
- Appointment Reminders — Sent 24 hours and 30 minutes before the scheduled appointment.
- Appointment Updates — Sent when an appointment is rescheduled, modified, or cancelled.
- Customer Support Notifications — Responses to customer inquiries and account-related messages.
Opt-In Process
Users voluntarily opt in to SMS communications through the booking flow using an optional, unchecked SMS consent checkbox. The consent process works as follows:
During the booking process, customers are presented with an SMS consent checkbox that is unchecked by default.
The checkbox includes the full disclosure text: "I agree to receive appointment confirmations, appointment reminders, scheduling updates, and customer support messages from Placid via SMS. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out and HELP for help. Consent is not a condition of purchase."
Customers can complete their booking without checking the SMS consent box. Consent is not required for booking.
Consent records (including timestamp, source, and IP address) are stored in our database for compliance auditing.
